Function Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) at Network Group is responsible for driving growth by executing strategies to acquire new members, expand relationships with existing members, and identify, develop and manage strategic vendor/partner relationships. The role combines member growth and retention, vendor/partner engagement and management, sales and, relationship management to expand the organisation’s reach, strengthen its value proposition, generate revenue and support business growth and operational efficiency.
The ideal person is a strong communicator and negotiator with an in-depth understanding of the Channel and MSP market; and is skilled in relationship and contract management, and business development strategy.
A self-starter who is comfortable working remotely and understands the importance of teamwork to deliver exceptional customer service and outcomes. The role involves seasonal national and international travel.
The Head of Sales and Marketing owns commercial strategy, budgets, targets, KPIs, sales governance, sponsorship strategy, pricing frameworks and performance management. The BDM owns day-to-day execution within those frameworks. Strategic decisions, non-standard commercial terms and material escalations require approval from the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Function Role:
Manage and develop member and vendor/partner relationships to drive growth, strengthen retention and improve satisfaction.
Serve as the central point of contact for members and vendors/partners, building and maintaining strong, ongoing relationships.
Develop business cases for membership benefits, return on investment, potential vendors/partners and the benefits for the group.
Identify and develop potential partnerships within the commercial priorities and approval framework established by the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Work closely with internal departments to meet member needs and support product or service delivery through vendor solutions.
Work with marketing to support targeted prospective member campaigns, vendor/partner PR and sponsorship delivery in line with the marketing and commercial strategy set by the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Deliver agreed new member acquisition, member retention and vendor/partner revenue targets, with performance measured against defined KPIs and reported to the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Act as the operational growth lead by executing agreed sales, relationship and vendor management plans to expand the organisation’s reach, value proposition and member base.
Function Responsibilities:
Develop operational plans and execute agreed strategies to achieve membership growth and revenue targets set by the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets and industries.
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing members and key vendors/partners.
Identify and evaluate potential vendors/partners aligned with business needs, quality standards and organisational goals.
Serve as the primary point of contact for member and vendor/partner related issues; working collaboratively with clients – both internally and externally – to deliver excellent service and optimise relationships.
Promote membership value propositions to prospective members using agreed communication channels.
Collaborate with marketing to execute agreed campaigns that attract new members, increase brand visibility, support vendor/partner PR and deliver the operational requirements of approved sponsorship packages.
Lead and support onboarding processes for members and vendor/partners to ensure seamless integration and a positive experience.
Support commercial negotiations and recommend terms, pricing and service level agreements within approved commercial frameworks and delegated authority, escalating non-standard arrangements to the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Ensure compliance with legal, financial, operational, regulatory and risk management requirements.
Monitor vendor/partner performance against agreed KPIs and service standards, coordinate corrective actions, escalate material issues and support continuous improvement.
Align member and vendor/partner strategies with business goals, innovation initiatives and market opportunities.
Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, emerging technologies, new member and vendors/partners and opportunities for innovation.
Maintain an up-to-date CRM database of prospects, leads, and all member and vendor/partner interactions and relationship activity.
Attend industry events and networking opportunities to promote the organisation, generate leads, and promote productive and collaborative client relationships.
Conduct and document regular review meetings with members and vendors/partners.
Provide objective feedback to internal teams to improve client services, programme offerings and member and vendor/partner supported solutions.
Maintain accurate performance information and provide at least monthly reports on membership and vendor/partner performance, pipeline and deal activity, risks and delivery of agreed initiatives to the Head of Sales and Marketing.
